By hand, brick-by-brick, the vision for Old Village Roastery’s wood-fired “coffee forge” emerged. It began several years ago as a backyard hobby; a sanctuary away from the hectic, fast paced life, a place where family and friends could gather, unwind, and simply enjoy a great cup of coffee.

As my passion for fire-roasting coffee grew, I began researching the history and evolution of coffee roasting. This took me back to a time when coffee roasting was performed by skilled craftsmen over wood fires. Today, modern industrial machinery has long since replaced these skilled artisans and methods from the past.
